Dr. Wendelburg received board certification and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1989. He started Animal Specialty Group in March of 1990. Dr. Wendelburg has authored numerous book chapters and lectured extensively in orthopedic, neurologic, soft tissue and joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Wendelburg is particularly well known for his collaboration in developing today's most-utilized canine total hip replacement implants and procedures. He is a past chairperson of the hip section in the annual Veterinary Orthopedic Society Conference and has authored several presentations involving hip replacement and limb biomechanics. In 2005, he was recognized by Los Angeles Magazine, appearing on its "Best In LA" list. He lives in Hidden Hills with his wife, Bliss, three children and their mini-menagerie of happy pets. |

Dr. Kirk Wendelburg received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 1982. He then completed a one-year internship followed by a three-year small animal surgery residency at the Ohio State University.
