She moved to Auburn University for her internship, followed by a residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Georgia. Dr. Sullivan became a Diplomate of the ACVIM (Neurology) in 1998 and went into private referral practice in New England. She returned to North Carolina State University in 2002, where she spent three and a half years as an assistant professor of neurology and neurosurgery. Her professional interests include encephalitis, seizures and neurosurgery. She has recently organized an international short course in Veterinary MRI and a two-week long ACVIM neuroscience course for neurology residents. Dr. Sullivan is the author of scientific papers and book chapters, She has played an integral role in the training of more than a dozen neurology and surgery residents, as well as numerous students, interns and visiting veterinarians. Dr. Sullivan lives in Laurel Canyon with her husband, Stuart, her dachshund, Herschel, and her cat Posey. When not at the hospital, she can usually be found on her sailboat in Marina del Rey. |

Dr. Sullivan received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.
