ASG is AAHA Approved
The AAHA Standards of Accreditation are widely used as benchmarks to measure excellence in veterinary medicine. Our hospital has been successfully evaluated by an AAHA practice consultant on approximately 900 standards that directly correlate to the care we are providing your pet.
The standards are periodically reviewed and updated to ensure they remain consistent with the changes in veterinary medicine and technology. ASG is proud to be AAHA accredited 17 years and counting, and is committed to providing quality veterinary care for years to come.

Our animal hospital’s doors are open all day, all night, all year, to all pets in all counties of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange and beyond.
Animal Specialty Group (ASG) is where dogs, cats, and pets of all sizes come when the absolute best care and most advanced, cutting-edge treatment is the only acceptable option.
For more than 20 years, Animal Specialty Group has been the animal hospital of choice for dogs, cats, veterinarians and pet owners throughout Southern California, because they know that we are simply the very best at what we do. In fact, we’ve had specialty cases referred to us from well beyond Los Angeles County, including San Bernadino, Ventura, Orange, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, as well as from almost every other state across the country. Not to mention our prestigious 24-hour Animal Emergency and Critical Care facility has seen patients from all over the entire state of California and beyond.
Every day our board-certified specialists, leading veterinarians, advanced technicians and compassionate staff work together, applying their knowledge, experience, skills and love of animals to the care of seriously ill and injured pets – from wherever they may come.
ASG is the animal hospital preferred by pets, and approved by vets.
At ASG, we have specialists from 7 different disciplines, working under our one roof, as a singularly-focused group, and using state-of-the-art equipment along with their leading expertise to provide cutting-edge treatment for dogs and cats (and other pets) of all breeds and sizes. This dedicated team of board-certified and residency-trained specialists is committed to serving our entire veterinary community, in not just our surrounding cities of Glendale, Los Feliz, Burbank, La Canada and Beverly Hills, but from San Fernando to Irvine, Santa Monica to San Bernadino, and the Westside to the South Bay.
This means combining the most advanced care with unparalleled bedside manners to provide the highest quality, compassionate care available for our patients. It means treating pet parents with understanding and respect. It also means working as a partner with our referring veterinarians, and not just accepting referral cases, but also providing consultations, giving opinions, and offering advice when asked.
Los Angeles’ Animal Hospital of Choice: Because of all this, Animal Specialty Group has been consistently recognized throughout the veterinary community for our innovation and commitment to advancing veterinary medical and surgical options. And as leaders in advanced technology, we have embraced our obligation to teach other veterinarians, through regular continuing education seminars, as well as a residency program that provides the focused training veterinarians need to become board-certified specialists.
Maybe that’s why our animal hospital has been the specialty center of choice by not only pet parents and veterinarians, but also top-ranked veterinary residents and interns as they look to further their education at a top-tier facility.
Some things that make our animal
hospital different from the rest.
Collaborative Approach: The way our specialists work with each other truly sets us apart. We are not several different specialty practices sharing one roof; we are a single practice of specialists, freely consulting and working together along with referring veterinarians to solve difficult cases. Our patients deserve nothing less than this comprehensive, collaborative care.
Teaching Hospital: The demand for veterinary specialty services has skyrocketed with advancements in medical technology and a growing recognition of pets as full-fledged family members. To help meet this demand, Animal Specialty Group offers a residency program in conjunction with various Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. This residency program has provided and continues to provide the focused, specialized training needed to prepare graduate veterinarians for board-certification and specialty practice. We are proud that some have elected to stay here at ASG after their certification, to help maintain this important tradition of service to veterinary medicine.
Innovation: Imagination and ingenuity are the forces that drive human and veterinary medicine forward. We take advantage of the constant rate of material and computer technology advancement, always looking for ways to improve current therapies, or develop completely new, novel solutions. With specialists from different fields working side-by-side to solve the problem, anything is possible.
Wildlife + Zoos: Working together to improve animal health is what we do, not only inside, but also outside of our hospital. We support various rescue groups and animal shelters in their effort to turn homeless pets into cherished family members.
